The ladies of Swanage Bowls Club won Division 1 of the Bournemouth & District Triples league for 2023 by an impressive 8 points, amassing a shot difference of 132, 31 more than their nearest rivals. Congratulations go to Julie Lomas-Smith, Gill Bryceson, Lil Bell, Linda Wallis, Kath Senior, Sue King, Judy Smooker, Sue Bird and Uta Keats.
Roger Senior played in the final of the Dorset Bowls Champions of Champions on Saturday 10th September. After a tense and even game, played on the hottest day of the year, Roger ended as runner up. A great achievement. Well played Roger.

Congratulations to Jenny Carter, Pam Roddick and Connie Palmer for reaching the quarter finals of the Dorset leaders benevolent triples.
Apologies to everyone who intended to play in the Carnival competition, but the weather has beaten us.
Hopefully the weather will improve for other carnival events.
Friday 28th July saw 3 Swanage ladies’ triples teams play in the Dorset East Benevolent competition.
With 20 teams competing we were delighted when all 3 teams progressed through to the second round . A complicated qualifying system meant that some teams had to win 2 matches to reach the County quarter finals, with only 2 teams having to battle it out over 3 rounds to get through.
Despite the odds 2 of our 3 teams drew each other in the second round only to then to find we were going to be one of the only 2 teams to have to play 3 rounds (hope you are following this, because we weren’t on the day!).
Our star team of Connie Palmer as lead, Pam Roddick as number 2 and skip Jenny Carter moved through to the 3rd round and then beat Poole Park in a tight game to go through to the quarter and semi final stage on 7th August at Shaftesbury.
