We were delighted to welcome Dorset bowls youth academy recently. They have produced several England internationals at under 18 and under 25 level and one of their team; Millie Tuck is the National singles champion both indoors and outdoors. Another of their members who played against us this time played in the England team at the under 18 British Isles Championships. So, we knew we were up against it and definitely the underdogs!
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for the game and they lived up to their reputation, beating us on 2 rinks, drawing one and losing on the other. We were therefore grateful that when all the points were added up we managed to scrape a win!
